Should I request to be transferred to another department?

I'm currently a summer intern assigned to the IT Dept. At orientation we were told that we were assigned to depts based on our career goal, mine being Human Resource Director. Can someone please explain to me what HR has to do with IT? I am here walking around in my professional wear working in dusty areas with wires, ports, and phones, and old equipment. Not to mention my heels were not purchased for that!! Should I call HR & ask them what's going on and request a transfer? All the other females are working in their desk positions staring at the screen all day while I sweat and cough in these crazy areas they force me to work in. & if I hear this computer geek bore me with computer talk I swear I'll scream! Please give me your opinions.
