How to determine a website's size?

I know it's important when building a website, to keep the content small, in terms of file size, so it can load quicker. How do you determine what the size of a given web page is? Is there a setting or screen option that will display this information, in one of the three mainstream browsers (IE, FireFox or Chrome) or some other way of seeing it, somehow?
