Is there a place where I could intern and volunteer with something related to horses?

I graduated from high school recently and I need to wait one year before I can attend college (this is not because I decided it nor because I am lazy, it is because of reasons that are beyond me right now). Anyway, I practice horseback riding and really enjoy working with horses in general, is there a place where I could intern and volunteer with something related to horses for a year or so? I am currently located in the US but I wouldn't mind something overseas. Any website with information would be awesome. Thanks!
